class quantlab.dataset.base.SymbolName(ticker, company=None)[source]#

Bases: object

The readable name of one symbol on one day: its ticker and company.

TickerLookup.names returns one per symbol. A symbol the lookup cannot name gets its own id as ticker, so a name is never missing.

company = None#

The company’s name that day, or None when the lookup records none.

ticker#

The ticker the symbol traded under that day, or the symbol id as a string when none is known.
